Mission

We strengthen the cultural fabric of the Hudson Valley through theater, music, dance, film, and education programs that inspire human connection.

The Depot Theater operates in partnership with the Town of Philipstown.

  • To be a welcoming and inspiring space for artists to create, be curious, and experiment.

  • To support the development of new work, on our own and through partnerships.

  • To consistently create and present excellent arts programming

  • To expand our circle of artists, and the voices on our stage.

  • To provide theater education experiences for youth and adults that unleash the creative spirit in everyone and promote career readiness for the next generation of arts professionals.

  • To make the arts universally accessible, and contribute to a culture of interconnectedness, empathy, generosity, and humanity in our community.

Vision

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement and Land Acknowledgement:

The Philipstown Depot Theatre is actively working to foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access within our theatre and our community at large. We are committed to being an organization that honors, respects, and features all voices.

The Philipstown Depot Theatre acknowledges that it operates on ancestral land of the Lenape, Munsee, and Wappinger peoples. We honor the many diverse indigenous peoples still connected to this area and are grateful for their stewardship of this land.

These statements draw on work done by colleagues at The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, The 2nd Stage Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, among others.
